In May 2020, The Province of BC and Worksafe BC introduced a mandatory requirement for all open or opening workplaces to draft, implement and publicly post a “COVID-19 Safety Plan.”
Do you own or operate a small business in BC that is trying to navigate the new Public Health Orders while get back on your feet as a business?
Are you struggling to find the time, information and resources to draft your Worksafe BC Safety Plan?
Do you have all of the required policies, company details and documentation needed for this requirement?
Will you feel prepared and have your Safety Plan published and displayed when the Worksafe BC inspections begin this month?
These safety plans are mandatory requirements, and must be posted publicly at every worksite and available immediately upon inspection from a Worksafe BC representative.
These plans must include consideration and compliance with all of the following:
Current and Emerging BC Public Health Officer Orders
BC’s Restart Plan Phased Approach Guidelines
Worksafe BC Protocols
Provincial Health Authorities
Employment Standards Act Policies
Local Government Bylaw Compliance
Strata Corporations Consent and Approvals
The legislation, documentation and guidance documents to begin this process is already over 300+ pages, and estimates are that it will take every business a minimum of 60-100+ management hours to properly draft, review, publish and display these required plans. Then, when the plan is drafted, employees need training and customers need education, signage and notices on the new operations and “normal” for each individual business.
We know that most small businesses in BC simply do not have the resources, expertise and time to accomplish many of these requirements while attempting to re-open or modify their services as they fight for their survival in these unprecedented times.
We are here to help you and are proud to announce…
